How to calculate flooring
The formula: boxes = ceil( area × (1 + waste) ÷ box coverage )
- Measure the room length and width in feet.
- Multiply length × width to get the floor area in square feet.
- Add about 10% for cuts, pattern matching, and mistakes.
- Divide by the coverage per box (often 20 sq ft) and round up.
